Last Will and Testament
of
William Sutton
In the name of God Amen I William Sutton of Moon Township in the
County of Allegheny and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania being low and
weak in body, but of sound mind memory and understanding, (Blessed be God)
for the same, but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life do
make and publish this my last will and testament; in manner and form following
to wit
Principally and first of all I commend my immortal soul into the hands
of Almighty God who gave it; and my body to the earth to be buried in a
decent and christian like manner at the discretion of my executors hereinafter
named. And as to such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless
me in this life I give and dispose of the same in the following manner
to wit;
First of all: It is my will and I do order that all my just debts and
funeral expenses be fully paid and justified~ I give and bequeath to my
dearly beloved wife Margaret all my estate real and personal for and during
her natural life. And immediately after the decease of my said wife
I give and devise all my lands unto Philip Rouzer and Margaret Sutton my
daughter to be divided between them equal in quantity and quality share
and share alike as tenants in common and not as joint tenants..
I give and bequeath to my son William the sum of twenty dollars
to be taken in full and in lieu of his share of my estate real and personal.
To my sonsElijah and James I give and bequeath the sum of twenty dollars
each to be taken in full and in lieu of their share of my estate real and
personal. To my son Jesse and Jeremiah the sum of ten dollars each to be
taken in full and in lieu of their shares out of my estate real and personal.
To my daughters Sarah Lowrey and Elizabeth Corban the sum of twenty
dollars each.
To my daughter Hannah Mitchell the sum of thirty dollars and to my
daughter Mary McCandless the sum of twenty dollars to be taken in full
and in lieu of their dower out of my estate real and personal. But in case
there should not be personal property sufficient to pay and discharge the
legacy herein before bequeathed it is my will and I do order that whatever
may be deficient shall be paid by my son-in-law Philip Rouzer and my daughter
Margaret in equal shares alike And as touching all the rest residue and
remainder of my estate real and personal of what kind or nature soever
the same may be in the County of Allegheny or elsewhere I give and devise
the same to my said son-in-law Philip Rouzer and my said daughter Margaret
to be divided between them in equal shares as tenants in common in equal
parts. And lastly I do hereby nominate and , constitute and appoint Benjamin
Miller, Esquire and James McCormick of the township aforesaid to be the
executors of this my will hereby revoking all other wills, legacies and
bequests by me heretofore made and declaring this and no other to
be my last will and testament..In witness whereof I have hereunto set my
hand and seal the twenty second day of Sepotember, In the year of our Lord
one thousand eitht hundred and nineteen.

Signed, sealed published announced and declared by the said testator
as his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence
and at his request have subscribed as witnesses.

Having forgot to mention my daughter Leanah Wilson, I give and bequest
to her, the said Leanah the sum of twenty dollars to be taken in full and
in lieu of her dower out of my estate and personal. Therefore I do hereby
order and direct that this codicil be taken and adjudged as a part of my
foregoing will. In witness whereof I have thereunto set my hand and seal
this twenty second day of September Anno Domino one thousand eight
hundred and nineteen..
